fsociety home page: the "Hello, friend." greeting typed like a terminal line, with a camera HUD in the corner and the post list below

A dark, glitchy blog theme inspired by Mr. Robot: blood red on black, a root shell that searches posts, posts numbered like episodes and a 404 page styled like season 4. It’s the theme behind this blog.

Yes, this whole project started because I wanted my blog to feel like Elliot’s terminal:

Elliot in his black hoodie, arms crossed, over a purple synthwave grid with "MR. ROBOT" in chrome letters

Each post opens with a shell prompt and the episode number, and the cover gets glitch and CRT effects:

There’s also a light mode, in a warm office grey instead of plain white:

The cyan and red split of the glitch effect comes straight from the season 3 poster:

Highlights:

  • 🖥️ Title search right in the root shell prompt
  • 🎬 Posts numbered like episodes (eps1.0, eps1.1…)
  • 📺 Glitch, CRT scanlines and a typed greeting, all of which you can turn off
  • 🌗 Dark and light modes
  • ⚡ Static site with posts in Markdown, free to host on GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages or Netlify
